Hotel Libava in Liepaja
The interior of the building is designed at the same time as the entire building reconstruction design. Used methods and tools are consistent with the concept of reconstruction idea - to preserve historical heritage only in details as it actually has survived, but everything what is not authentic, to design in a contemporary manner, but compatible with the historical information.
In this building, actually, was survived only building volumes and facade architecture, interior details were all lost. All interior solutions has a classical composition, such as the floor and ceiling shape, cover pattern and lighting fixture arrangement, but the shape and design of every detail, lighting and furniture choice is according to contemporary trends. As a link with the history of Liepāja is a belt of paintings on the walls all around the room with scenes from 20century View cards with port topics.
