A Mansion in Garkalne

A land lot is located in Garkalne district, Sunisu village on the bend of Lielā Jugla (Big Jugla) river. Most of the plot is occupied by the river cliff with a height difference around nine meters comparing to the street level. On the upper edge of riverside cliff is designed a white building of contemporary architecture, which is widely open to the most valuable part of the landscape, so, to the river side.

The river is located on the north, therefore much daylight is necessary to let in the house from the street, or from the southern side. Such situation determines the choice of building volumes, where a sloping roof top edge ends with the southern wall, where are located the windows for the living room on the second floor level.
