New construction of a production building and reconstruction of two buildings at Zemgales street 11, Liepāja

Karosta is a special territory within the city of Liepāja. It was historically formed to meet the needs of the occupying power's army, and in today's situation, when the occupying army is gone with all its personnel, many buildings have become redundant. Due to a bad coincidence, historical buildings with a recognized cultural and historical value have also become redundant, therefore the municipality has found a solution by returning these buildings for integration into new industrial objects and relying on the architect's ability to preserve as much of them as possible.

Building design of the production building at Zemgales street 11 is the first one that integrates the historical buildings of Karosta. It is planned to use one of the existing buildings in full and place the administration and staff rooms in it, while on the other side, only two outer walls facing Zemgales and Beverīnas streets will be preserved, partially including them in the design volume of the production building, which occupies the entire length of the block along the front of Beverīnas street.
